The B & O Play family continues to grow with the launch of the Beoplay P6 portable speaker. Just like Bang & Olufsen’s smaller portable speaker the P2, this one’s designed by Cecilie Manz, but also offers 360-degree dispersion of rich and powerful sound with acute attention to detail.

Beoplay P6 has a classic square shape, so it won’t topple over, and so its smooth anodised and pearl blasted aluminium surfaces can be easily gripped. Coming in at $599, anything that stops this beauty from falling on the floor is a godsend.

The characteristic hole pattern shapes elegantly around the corners to create the 360-degree sound, while a double-layered premium leather strap adds a warm contrast, plus extra safety. Beoplay P6 is splash and dust resistant, although we’re still not taking this one outside.

P6 is designed with a user-friendly interface that references the classic ‘80s Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 6000 sound system. That is, integrated flex buttons separated by fine cuts to ensure a soft tactile feeling when a button is pressed down, and an effortless return to its original position.

While channelling designs from the past, Beoplay P6 is very much a product of 2018. It has one-touch access to Siri or Google Assistant on your phone, access to calls, and switch through ToneTouch presets via the Beoplay App for a personalised music experience. Beoplay P6 has a play time of up to 16 hours between charges.

The speaker is finely tuned for the acclaimed Bang & Olufsen sound and delivers full bandwidth and high-quality sound at an impressive volume level. At its heart are three amplifier channels boasting a total of 215W peak power.

Beoplay P6 launches in two colours, Black and Natural. It comes with a USB-C charging cable and is available from mid-May, 2018.

Last month B & O Play dropped its SS18 Ocean collection which added a seasonal colour palette to its iconic headphones and speaker range.
Check it out

Have you subscribed to Man of Many?
