Soundbars are usually a separate unit from your TV, but thanks to crowd funding, startup company Canvas Audio is launching a Hi Fi soundbar that becomes a part of your TV. The soundbar doubles as a TV stand for LG’s OLED 55-inch and 65-inch TVs.
Billed as an “audiostand,” the OLED speaker will deliver “real 3D audio” and “true Hi-Fi with a stereo image of 10-12 feet from a product that’s 3.5 feet wide” promises Canvas Audio. That sound comes courtesy of two high-end bass/midrange speakers, two tweeters, and four amplifiers. There’s also plenty of ways to connect to the speakers, whether that be through AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect (all of which mean that it could be used as a wireless speaker as well), or HDMI.
“While sound quality is the driving force behind Canvas,” states the company, “we new that to gain the edge on soundbars, including their subwoofers and Hi FI systems, we had to eliminate the visual clutter via beautiful minimalistic design.” And that’s exactly what the soundbar does. Once attached to your TV, the soundbar virtually disappears. It seems like a natural part of the TV, rather than a separate unit taking up more space. “Pursuing the sensibilities of Scandinavian design pushed us towards ever greater simplicity and elegance, and the epiphany came when we realized that the speaker should be a stand for the OLED TV—it literally completes the picture,” says Canvas. The speaker comes with interchangeable color panels so that you can get the exact right look that you want.
You can reserve your Canvas Audio Soundbar now during their crowd funding campaign, and then when it comes out, you’ll be able to enjoy excellent sound from a perfectly hidden speaker.
