After a four-year research and development period, German audio and watch brand Ballfinger finally announced the release of their highly-anticipated Reel-to-Reel tape player. The company has brought old-school audio technology into the 21st century with this machine. The Reel-to-Reel Tape Player offers a way to listen to audio via tape.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe reel-to-reel tape machine, called the Tonbandmaschine M 063, features a classic vintage aesthetic.\r\nIt has controls on the right side for recording and on the left for playback. Ballfinger designed this tape machine from scratch. All of the components, including the pick-up systems, servo units and drive motors were manufactured in Ballfinger\u2019s factories.\r\n\r\nAs Ballfinger is a design-focused firm, it is no surprise that the Reel-to-Reel Tape Machine is aimed mainly at serious audiophiles and industry professionals. The engineering and design are both top-notch. The front panel covers are precisely machined. The bottoms fit perfectly into the front panel cutouts.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe M063 can run silently with anything up to 12-inch reels. The processor control drive is driven two brushless DC disk rotor motors. The processor control drive and tacho-controlled winding speeds help keep the tape from looping or stretching.\r\n\r\nThe Reel-to-Reel Tape Player uses rolls up to 30mm in size. It can be used either horizontally or vertically. An extremely precise digital display located on the front that lets you know how much time has elapsed. It is accurate to the hundredth of a second.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMade from machined aluminium, the entire chassis is stable and durable. The front and rear panels tilt forward for easy maintenance.\r\nCheck it out\r\nHave you subscribed to Man of Many? You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
