LG kicked off its 2017 by launching a massive range of new and improved audio/visual products, none more appealing to home cinema buffs than the new Super UHD 4K TVs that now feature wider viewing angles and greater colour accuracy. These advances are thanks to the In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel and the newly introduced LG Nano Cell technology that are designed to absorb excess light, reducing contrast and colour bleed. Essentially, there is less of a colour difference between viewers seated directly in front of the screen and those watching at a wide angle. These new features are unique to LG’s range of Super UHD 4k TVs.

Returning for the 2017 models are Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos integrated into the TVs to pair the 4K images with premium surround sound. WebOS 3.5, the newest version of LG’s operating platform offers the usual streaming content including Netflix, Stan, Amazon Video and YouTube. For the third consecutive year, Netflix has recommended LG’s UHD TV’s for delivering superior performance for the global streaming service.

Beyond the new noteworthy features, you are still getting a premium smart TV from a leading global brand. LG was awarded ‘Best Brand’ in the television category for 2016 by Australia’s independent consumer group Choice, it will be interesting to see if they can achieve this again in 2017. The Super UHD 4K TVs are available now in sizes ranging from 49” through to the impressive 75” screen. Your home cinema is about to receive a massive upgrade.
