Arlo Pro 3 Camera Leads the Charge on Features

Security cameras are becoming more prolific, and unfortunately more necessary. As demand for better cameras increases, companies are adding more and more features to their cameras. The Arlo Pro 3 Camera from Netgear might just be leading the charge in that respect.

Arlo Pro 3 Camera front

The Arlo Pro 3 has the impressive ability to capture footage at 2560×1440 (QHD) and can support HDR. The 160-degree field of view lens covers more area. The camera also has color night vision and comes with a built-in spotlight. A better speaker and microphone combination as added, and Netgear states that the combo improves the quality of two-way conversations. Should that conversation not go as planned, the Arlo has a built-in siren—you can even program the siren to go off automatically when it detects sound or movement. As for being outside, the Arlo’s IP65 certification means it is water and dust resistant. It can be mounted to just about any surface using its magnetic mount or its screw-in mechanism.

Arlo’s Smart Hub has improved power and WiFi performance as well. Those improvements save on battery life, making it possible for the Arlo to go for up to six months on a single charge. Arlo also supports HomeKit and both Alexa and Google Assistant.

Pricing for the camera is competitive. You can pick up a separate Arlo Pro 3 for AUD $419, or buy a $949 package that comes with two cameras, the Smart Hub, and a three-month trial of Arlo Smart. Arlo’s subscription service will run you AUD $12.99 a month and will give you access to save your recording to the cloud for 30 days. The Arlo Pro 3 is available on Arlo’s website and leading Australian electronic retailers from now on.
