The new year might be a time to reset and relax for most, but in the tech world, January kickstarts a year of innovation. CES 2024, the world’s premier technology showcase, is officially underway, seeing a host of future-leading brands and producers unveil their most incredible new developments. After the all-digital affair of 2021 and the slightly revamped 2022 and 2023 edition, the annual Consumer Electronics Show has jumped back into the public eye in a big, bold way for 2024. From the latest in electric vehicles and eVTOL additions to the newest innovations in smartphone, laptop, display and television technology, the event delivers the very best from the biggest names in the business. Here is everything we’ve seen, heard and marvelled at from CES 2024 so far.

From laptops and electric vehicles, all the way through to audio options and displays, CES 2024 has already delivered some impressive new releases. These are our favourite products we’ve seen so far, with updates to come as the show continues.

LG Signature OLED T Transparent TV

A fully transparent wireless OLED TV? Sounds like a ridiculous premise, but somehow LG made it happen. Unveiled as part of CES 2024, the LG Signature OLED T is the “world’s first transparent OLED TV with Zero Connect technology”. Essentially, this means you can drop this 77-inch marvel into the centre of your room and peer straight through it when you aren’t watching the next episode of The Bear.

“Practically invisible when turned off, it blends into the environment and frees users from the long-standing problem of what to do with the ‘big black screen’,” LG said. “The beautiful see-through TV screen also helps to make one’s space feel larger, providing a sense of openness.”

Best of all, the new LG Signature OLED T TV is powered by the new α (Alpha) 11 AI processor. A game changer, so it is little wonder it is the winner of five CES 2024 Innovation Awards, including a Best of Innovation honour.

Dell XPS Lineup

To kick off CES 2024, Dell revealed two new iterations of its flagship laptop range, the XPS 14 and XPS 16, while also revamped the XPS 13 Plus to the XPS 13. As Dell explained, the new XPS designs take a minimalistic approach, with CNC machined aluminium and Gorilla Glass 3 construction. Additionally, each new release features a touch function row, a glass touchpad with haptic feedback, and larger keycaps.

In terms of the actual functionality, the new XPS releases cop InfinityEdge panels with OLED touch options, variable refresh rates and Dolby Vision to go along with a quad-speaker design and support for Dolby Atmos audio. Naturally, the lineup also brings new AI-enabled features thanks to Intel Core Ultra processors and experiences brought to life by Windows 11.

AMD Ryzen 8000G Series Processors

AMD introduced a new range of Ryzen 8000G Series desktop processors, including the Ryzen 7 8700G, which AMD claims has the “world’s most powerful built-in graphics”. The new release also ushers in a new era of AI, with AMD also bringing a dedicated AI neural processing unit (NPU) to desktop PC processors for the first time with the introduction of Ryzen AI.

While AMD also revealed the new Ryzen 5000 processors, the Ryzen 8000G Series Desktop Processors were the real standouts. Featuring up to eight cores and 16 threads, AMD explained that these processors are optimized for efficiency with low power draw but don’t sacrifice performance or responsiveness. Built on top of AMD “Zen 4” architecture, the 8000G Series processors enable leadership energy efficiency while still leveraging the incredible speed of “Zen 4”.

“AMD continues to lead the AI hardware revolution by offering the broadest portfolio of processors with dedicated AI engines in the x86 market,” said Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager, Computing and Graphics Group at AMD. “Last year at CES, we introduced the first dedicated AI engine in an x86 processor for the mobile market. This year, we are expanding our AI leadership to desktop computing through our Ryzen 8000G Series processors. We’re excited to lead the AI PC era together with our close OEM and ecosystem partners.”

Sennheiser Momentum Sport

This year, audio legends Sennheiser launched a complete refresh of its classic Momentum range, including new variations of the True Wireless 4 and Accentum Plus over-ears, however, the standout was the new Momentum Sport. With a chunkier design that looks like it was pulled right from the adventurer’s knapsack, these new earbuds introduce built-in sensors to track both your body temperature and heart rate. Best of all Sennheiser claims the Momentum Sport will “seamlessly” integrate with your favourite health apps, allowing you to track workouts and metrics across different devices.

LG UltraGear 32-inch 4K Gaming Monitor (32GS95UE)

Touted as the “world’s first 4K OLED gaming monitor with Dual-Hz feature”, the LG UltraGear 32-inch 4K gaming monitor (32GS95UE) makes some bold claims, but for the most part, it delivers. Unveiled alongside the updated 27-inch, 34-inch, 39-inch, and 45-inch UltraGear OLED widescreen curved models, this gaming monitor comes fitted with LG‘s 4-side virtually borderless design. It has a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate OLED panel and an ultra-fast 0.3ms GtG response time, however, the reall benefit here is the new ‘on-touch’ option.

LG claims the new 32-inch OLED 32GS95U will house the new and innovative Dual-Hz technology that lets you switch between 4K at 240Hz and Full-HD at 480Hz with “one simple click”. According to the manufacturer, this “time-saving innovation, easily managed via a hotkey or joystick’s directional switch, lets users instantly apply the optimal combination of screen resolution and refresh rate for the genre of game they’re playing. For fast-paced action titles and shooting games, users can select FHD 480Hz, while visually rich story-driven games can be enjoyed in 4K 240Hz.”

Tineco Pure One Station Self-Cleaning Vacuum

Over the years, CES has been no stranger to robot vacuums, but the latest effort from Tineco could well be the most convenient. Described as “the world’s smartest self-cleaning station vacuum”, the Pure One Station’s OmniHub stores the vacuum neatly, recharges, and automatically self-cleans, without you needing to lift a finger. According to the tech company, cleaning the entire machine from the brush to the tubes and filters is completely hands-free, with storage of debris and dust held for up to 60 days. Delivering a hassle-free experience, the ZeroTangle brush head prevents hair buildup in the roller, and PureCyclone technology separates air and dust to minimize clogging and sustain strong suction and power.

Alienware QD-OLED Gaming Monitors

For CES 2024, Alienware Technology also pulled out a host of new-market gaming monitors. The Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3225QF) and Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW2725DF) represent the “world’s first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor with Dolby Vision HDR” and the “world’s first 360Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor”, respectively.

According to Alienware, the AW3225QF is a 4K curved QD-OLED panel that is designed to meet the needs of a PC gamer or content creator who “demands the finest in 4K visuals”. It features a fast 240Hz native refresh rate, 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time2, Dolby Vision HDR and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400.

Similarly, the AW2725DF monitor lets you react to in-game situations at high speed with up to 360Hz native refresh rate. It also comes with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA AdaptiveSync technology to improve performance at virtually any framerate.

Bosch Automated Valets

If you’ve always liked the idea of a robot butler, Bosche may soon have you covered. The technology brand unveiled a new set of car-charging robot valets, designed to make EV owners’ lives just that little bit more convenient. The new product comes via a collaboration with Volkswagen subsidiary Cariad and will see drivers at testing facilities able to indicate to the valet that their car needs charging. According to Bosch, these automated valets then guide your car to a charging robot that automatically opens the flap and plugs in, giving you all the juice you need for your next trip.

LG CineBeam Qube

Kicking off CES 2024 early, LG unveiled a new 4K lifestyle projector with a sleek and somewhat retro aesthetic dubbed the CineBeam Qube. The brand claims that the 4K projector is able to “transform an indoor space into a movie theatre” by simply picking up the box with the convenient 360-degree rotatable handle and placing it down in front of your make-shift screen.

According to the official product listing, the LG CineBeam Qube is capable of projecting 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution images measuring up to 120 inches. This feat is achieved via the RGB laser light source and the same LG image refining technologies you’ll find on products like the G3. As a result, you can expect to enjoy a 450,000:1 contrast ratio and 154 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, not too shabby for a projector that weighs less than 1.5 kgs.

LG 98-Inch QNED TV

On the TV side of things, LG got the party started a little early when it dropped new information regarding its 2024 lineup of QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs, including a whopping 98-inch monster. As you would expect, AI is playing an integral role this time around, with LG claiming that all of the new QNED models will be powered by the a8 AI Processor. As a result, the new models have ‘AI Picture Pro’; a new format that is based on deep machine learning. As the brand explains, “this versatile feature distinguishes faces, objects, and backgrounds within a scene, enriching the texture and fine details to present realistic images”.

The latest QNED offerings will be available in. 43-, 50-, 55, 65-, 75- and 86-inch sizes, however, special mentions must go to the category-first 98-inch beast. The ultra-large new TV takes the very best of LG’s pixel-dense technology and splashes it across a rankly ludicrous canvas, making for one serious piece of home entertainment kit.

When is CES 2024?

While the event only officially kicks off on Wednesday, January 10 when the floor show was unfurled, several of the big-name retailers have opted to get the party started early. Brands such as LG, Samsung and Microsoft revealed new technology as early as December, however, the bulk of the new releases will be unveiled throughout the multi-day event. This year, CES 2024 will run from Wednesday 10 January to Friday 12 January 2024.
