Acer announced that they would be expanding their Creator PC line with new Windows 10 convertible notebooks, the ConceptD 7 Ezel Series, as well as a new, powerful workstation, the ConceptD700. The new additions will make it easier for designers to collaborate when they bring ideas to life while also supporting heavy content workflows. “We’re expanding our ConceptD line with new convertible notebook form factors to support professionals in their creative endeavors,” stated Jerry Kao, Co-COO of Acer Inc. “Ideally suited for professionals creating 2D and 3D work, we’re excited to expand the line with these powerful new tools that can assist more creators.”
The new ConceptD 7 Ezel and Ezel Pro are perfect for collaborative work thanks to Acer’s Ezel hinge, which allows for use in multiple scenarios. The inclusion of the Wacom EMR pen makes it even simpler to use the laptop for sketching, finalizing projects, and presenting. In total, the Ezel has five different modes to fit whatever the situation calls for—sharing mode, floating mode, stand mode, pad mode, and display mode.
The displays for the computers are made of Gorilla Glass 6 and are very resistant to drops. They also feature a 4K IPS display with 3840 X 2160 resolution delivering more than 8 million pixels. Screen brightness comes in at 400 nit and the displays include an integrated color correction technology that reproduces the PANTONE Matching System colors with superior fidelity. They also create true-to-life color reproduction with a color accuracy of Delta E <2 with a 100 percent Adobe RGB color gamut. The quality of the display makes it perfect for creators, allowing them to see digitally what they’ll see in the real world. The screen is also touch screen enabled, making it faster and easier to control your computer.
The ConceptD 7 workstation uses Intel Xeon E processor and up to NVIDIA Quadro TRX 4000 graphics to make life easier for filmmakers, animators, and AEC designers. 3D CAD, with its intense workflows, is made more manageable thanks to this workstation. With up to 64 GB 4x DIMM 2666 MHz DDR4 memory, the workstation can handle complex design tasks.
The ConceptD 7 Ezel starts at $2,699, with the Pro coming in at $3,099. No word on exact pricing for the workstation, but it will be available starting in March.
