Anyone who has been paying attention knows that virtual reality will be the biggest thing in computing very soon. Dell has obviously been paying attention because they just released an all-in-one desktop that is ready for VR—the Dell Inspiron 27 7000.
The Inspiron 27 7000 features Dell’s borderless Infinity Edge design with a super slim bezel surrounding the 27-inch display. This design provides HD viewing from any angle.
The base model has AMD’s new Ryzen 5 1400 CPU, 4GB of RAM and Radeon RX560 graphics. RX580 graphics are an option on the upgraded model. Both can easily handle most VR movies and games.
Display Sharing is a handy feature that allows the Inspiron 27 7000 to be used as a 4K HDR10 display for video game boxes and consoles.
Dell equipped the Inspiron 27 7000 with a USB Type-C port, four USB 3.1 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. There are also two HDMI ports for easy VR setup. The 2-in-1 is also equipped with an SD card reader, Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band AC Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet.
The Inspiron 27 7000 has a removable back panel, which makes it easier to upgrade storage and RAM. An angular stand provides smart cable management. An infrared Windows Hello camera is located below the display.
If you want to try out the virtual world, this computer is worth a look. Aside from its VR capabilities, the Dell Inspiron 27 7000 is a good all-in-one with its Infinity Edge display, Ryzen’s new CPU and easy expansion.
