The Philips Momentum 43 inch 4K monitor will have gamers salivating at the mouth. The monitor is a 43-inch 8-bit + FRC MVA behemoth that features a 3840×2160 resolution with 720-1000 nits brightness, a 4000:1 contrast ratio, and 178 degree by 178 degree viewing angles. The momentum refreshing at 60 t 80 Hz and has a 4 ms response time. What will make gaming on this monitor even better is the Quantum Dot enhanced backlighting. This features allows for an above average color coverage of 97.6 percent of the DCI-P3 color range and a 100 percent coverage of the sRGB.
Further setting this monitor apart, the Momentum was awarded the DisplaHDR 1000 logo from VESA—the first monitor to do so. The logo means that the Momentum complies with VESA’s strict requirements for brightness and black levels.
You can hook into the monitor in one of four ways: a DisplayPort 1.2, a Mini DisplayPort 1.2, an HDMI2.0, and a USB Type-C. With that many options, it’s not surprising that the monitor supports picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture functionality. Additionally, the included remote control can be used to not only control the monitor, but to also control other devices connected via the HDMI input.
Perhaps the only drawback to this monitor is that its incredible size makes having a height and tilt adjustable stand next to impossible. But with a screen that big, is that really a deal breaker?
