Razer Gaming Monitor Shreds the Competition

With the advent of Esports, gaming is starting to get more and more recognition (told you it was a real thing, mum), which also means that more and more companies are starting to put out higher-end and better performing products to match the needs of these electronic athletes.

The Razer Gaming Monitor is an example of this movement. Razer’s new monitor takes the visual portion of the gaming world to a new level with a monitor that is capable of showing the whole spectrum of colours, including rendering deeper blacks.

The monitor uses a 27 inch IPS display with 2560 X 1440 WQHD. It also has an incredible one millisecond response time.

The screen’s colour is also wider than sRGB—it has 95 per cent DCI-P3 colour, which is cinematic quality. And the high dynamic range reaches 420 Nits. Finally, instead of the normal 60Hz refresh rate, the Razer Raptor has 144Hz.

It can display at more than double the frames than just about any other monitor out there.

The Raptor is powered by Razer Chroma, which has 16.8 million colours that spread edge to edge, thanks to the bezel-less viewing area. The screen has a number of different connections, including HDMI 2.0a, DP, USB-C, and two USB3.1 gen1.

Perhaps the best news is that it’s not just Esports athletes that have access to this monitor. Anyone can pick it up for their own system.
