Samsung Futuristic Odyssey Curved Gaming Monitors
An Australian release date and prices were recently revealed for Samsung’s new Odyssey curved gaming monitors which are just as much statement pieces as they are immersive displays. Both the Odyssey G9 and G7 offer QLED displays with ultra-wide 1000R curvature for what’s said to provide fast response, eye comfort and a futuristic feel.

Available from August 3, the massive 49-inch Odyssey G9 delivers a resolution of 5120×1440 with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The grand size that’s complemented by its sleek white build and blue lighting could potentially draw more attention then what’s unfolding on screen. Samsung’s Odyssey G9 is priced at $2,799 AUD.
The G7 looks ideal for anyone who doesn’t require a display as large as their living room TV. The Odyssey G7 will be available in 32-inch and 27-inch sizes with all of the same benefits as the much larger G9, except black instead of white. The 32-inch display is priced at $1,099 while the 27-inch goes for $999.
“The Samsung Odyssey line-up completely challenges the traditional gaming experience by bringing together the key elements of next-level gameplay: comfortable curvature, immersive interaction and perfect picture quality,” said Jeremy Senior, Samsung’s head of consumer electronics.
“Odyssey is a statement for Samsung’s commitment to offering gamers with the pinnacle of our capability in innovation, design, and experiences.”
The Samsung Odyssey G7 and G9 go on sale August 3, with pre-orders starting from July 17 for the G9 through Harvey Norman and from the July 20 for the G7 through reputable computer dealers.
