HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 Printer Belongs in the Home Office

One printer to rule them all

When working from home becomes the new norm, you need the right tools to stay productive, and the boss might have something to say about you wheeling the office printer out the door.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is your go-to printer for working from the home office. It’s an all-in-one device specially made for handling high-volume printing and scanning tasks at a fast rate. With high-quality printing and a great range of smart features, $249 is a small price to pay for getting s#*t done.

HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is capable of clear and vivid prints with a printing resolution of up to 1200dpi in monochrome, and up to 4800 x 1200 optimised dpi for coloured. 9010 also has a 1200dpi scanning and a 600dpi copying resolution which is pretty darn reasonable.

Print speeds reach up to 32 pages per minute for both monochrome and coloured documents. Plus, with an automatic two-sided printing feature, you can easily print on both sides of the paper at one go. For hands-free, continuous printing, there’s a 35-page auto-feeder.

OfficeJet Pro 9010 has a 6.75cm colour touchscreen for selecting functions and configuring settings. The screen is not huge, but it’s easily managed and increasing its size would only increase the price of the printer. There’s one USB 2.0 port for printing and scanning from USB thumb drives, an Ethernet port and WiFi for versatile connectivity.

HP’s Smart Tasks feature allows you to wirelessly print and scan files using your paired smartphone, laptop or tablet. So if you’re out and about and receive a doc that needs printing, do it remotely via the supported app, and it will be ready to view when you make it home. Alternatively, scanned documents and pictures can be directly shared via email, Dropbox, Google Drive, or the Cloud. The printer can be managed across several platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows and macOS.

HP included self-healing WiFi, meaning if the connection is lost, the printer can automatically reboot to reduce interruptions. Security-wise, the printer has its own firewall with WPA2 security and the option of password protection for both the embedded web server and the physical control panel on the printer. This last one is perfect for discouraging kids who can’t get enough of pushing buttons.

The printer measures in at 439.3mm x 342.5mm x 278mm and comes exclusively in the Light Basalt colourway. OfficeJet Pro 9010 is an ideal all-rounder for anyone whose work requires the occasional heavy printing job or just frequent smaller ones. At the RRP of $249, it won’t break the bank and can make a nice, little write off come tax time.
