Ill Communication – BONX Wearable Walkie Talkie

Before the cell phone craze was the original mobile device: our beloved walkie-talkie. Whether you were a soldier in the army or just a young kid playing in the backyard the walkie-talkie was your trusty communication tool of choice. It therefore seems only fitting with all the modern day technology at our disposal that the walkie-talkie might get an upgrade. Here to do exactly that is BONX, a Japan-made device/app that will probably have reached its goal on Indiegogo by the time you finish this article.

BONX is marketed toward outdoor enthusiasts and extreme sports lovers who want to engage in the “group talk” experience that was initially launched by walkie-talkies decades ago. With the incorporation of Bluetooth and a group-talk app, however, BONX Is offering newfound tiers of mobility and unlimited range (provided there’s service). The earpiece itself is like a sturdier, waterproof version of your average Bluetooth and it’s comfortable, colourful and secure. It can be voice activated which again equates to a true hands-free experience.

The group-talk app supports a network of up to 10 people so bring your friends but don’t go overboard just yet. We can personally picture the BONX as being the perfect resource for a group of guys hitting the slopes on snowboards or getting into a paintball battle. It’s compatible with iPhone 5 and Android 4.3 and up so tell that friend of yours still clinging to his flip-phone it’s time for an upgrade if he wants to join in on the fun.
