The Lomography Daguerreotype Art Lens Honours a Long Lost Aesthetic

The Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens is inspired by the world’s first photographic optic lens. It features a timeless brass finish that mirrors its 19th century counterpart, in addition to all the versatility and compatibility expected of a modern camera lens. Supporting a 64mm focal length, the Daguerreotype Lens works with a Waterhouse Aperture Plate System, and is compatible with all classic plates and several new ones that expand the realm of possibilities. The Lumière Plates create soft out-of-focus backgrounds, placing emphasis on the subject of the image. The Aquarelle Plates produce a textured style that looks like brush strokes.

The Daguerreotype lens is compatible with Canon EF and Nikon F cameras, plus loads of analogue and SLR cameras when fitted with an adapter mount. Featuring an extensive range of moods and effects, this elegant handcrafted lens is perfect for those who care about capturing and creating that perfect moment. Almost two centuries later, Lomography have revived the ethereal aesthetics created by early lenses, and done a bang-up job of convincing us that a photographer’s style is as important as their creative vision.
