Sony’s Xperia XA2 Announced Ahead of CES 2018 Takes 120-Degree Selfies

Described as “the ultimate selfie smartphone,” Sony Xperia XA2 boasts impressive camera technology, powerful performance and exceptional battery life, all rolled into one neat little package.

Sony’s new mid-range smartphone is built on Qualcomm’s SnapdragonTM 630 Mobile Platform and powered by a high-capacity 3,300 mAh battery, so you can do more of what you love for longer with smooth and speedy performance.

“Boasting exceptional front camera technology first seen in our flagship XZ line, Xperia XA2 is the ultimate phone for selfies and is just the start of an exciting product pipeline for 2018,” said John Featherstone, Managing Director, Sony Mobile Communications Oceania.

The powerful 23MP rear camera is capable of recording 4K video and producing colour with clarity even in low-light. You can also capture slow motion video at 120fps for dramatising action and movement. The 8MP front camera has a 120° super wide-angle lens so you can fit more of your friends and surroundings in the frame.

Xperia’s 5.2-inch full HD display is brighter, sharper and more colourful than its predecessors. It sits within a borderless design, taking the screen right to the edge. Unlike some smartphones, XA2 is built to last with durable Corning Gorilla Glass.

Sony included several smart charging technologies for your convenience. Smart Stamina extends usage during the day, while Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging ensure the battery stays healthy over time. Quick charging is also supported to give you hours of power with just minutes of charging.

“Xperia XA2 is an exciting addition to our already strong mid-range product offering bringing bold technologies to this section of the market in the most accessible way possible,” adds Featherstone.

Xperia XA2 will be available in Single SIM and Dual SIM variants in four fresh colours: silver, black, blue, pink. Network availability will be confirmed closer to launch. Stay tuned for stacks more announcements from CES 2018.
