Starting in late October you won’t need to be a skydiver just to record GoPro footage from the air. That’s because the mega-popular camera brand will unveil the new GoPro Karma Drone. The name pretty much speaks for itself and like GoPro’s cameras the new drone is light, sturdy and effortless to use.
GoPro has earned its keep as the brand that delivers absolute mobility and so the Karma drone if anything seems like a natural extension of the company’s core principles. As such this lightweight baby is foldable and compact enough to fit in a small carrying backpack designed specifically to house it when not in use. In addition to the carry pack the Karma drone is joined by a sturdy grip with built-in camera controls and image-stabilization capabilities. The grip can be mounted on the nearest vehicle or handheld. Giving users even more control is a game-style Karma Controller with a small display screen and easy-to-use buttons. The drone itself can reach heights of 4500 meters and speeds of 35mph.
The GoPro Karma Drone is all part of GoPro’s aggressive new line-up as the brand fights to maintain its kung-fu grip on seamless mobile camera technology. The drone is compatible with the Hero4 as well as the upcoming Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session cameras. Overall the Karma is shaping up to be a high quality drone with tons of accessibility and a discernible edge on most of the competition, arguably proving that GoPro is as formidable when entering new arenas as it is defending the mobile camera throne.
