Home theaters used to be something that was reserved for homes that had the space—wide open rooms that had the prescribed distance necessary for the projector to be able to shoot the image up on a screen. If your house had small living rooms…well, a home theater just wasn’t in the dice.
LG is correcting that situation with their CineBeam line. Their newest addition, the CineBeam Laser 4K Projector is made with small spaces in mind. It’s Ultra Short Throw (UST) technology can project a 90-inch screen up onto a wall from only two inches away. If two inches sounds a little ridiculous, don’t worry, you can move the projector back to seven inches—and get a larger 120-inch screen in the process. The Laser 4K features a 2,500 ANSI lumen brightness and has, as the name suggests, 4K UHD resolution. It also works with LG’s ThinQ AI, providing smart suggestions and voice commands as well as various apps. You’ll be able to stream movies and shows from different services via USB, Ethernet, or HDMI connections.
If you’ve been hoping for the day when you’d be able to have your own home theater without having to knock out a wall, that day is here. No word on price just yet, but it will definitely be worth the price of admission.
