LG Reveals the World’s First Rollable OLED TV

Space is a limited commodity, especially in many homes and apartments. Even with that limited resource, you still want to have as large a screen as possible for your entertainment and gaming. LG has the answer with the world’s first rollable OLED TV.

The Zero View comes as an aluminium box that doesn’t require a lot of space, but with the push of a button on the remote control, a 4K TV emerges. The panel of the TV is just 3 mm thick, and it unrolls from the box.

Fully risen from the box, the TV is capable of everything you can do with a “normal” LG smart TV. You also get webOS 4.5 functionality, which includes a dashboard view that shows all your connected devices and that supports Google Assistant, Alexa, and Apple’s AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. The dashboard will also track your usage and then arrange the apps you use the most along the bottom of the screen.

If you don’t want or need the whole screen, such as when you’re listening to music, you can set the screen to Line View, which only displays about a quarter of the screen. Not only is this mode great for music, but you can also use it to look at photos or enjoy animations and sounds in the Mood menu (like rain or fireplace modes).

Having the option to discreetly hide away your giant TV means that you can entertain without having the space being dominated by the screen.
