Make Perfect Holiday Highballs With Suntory’s Toki Whisky This Christmas

In Partnership with The House of Suntory

At this time of year, a gift you can share is always the very best kind. In fact, it’s something of an unspoken rule within the Man of Many team that our Christmas shopping is never complete until a bottle of excellent whisky is nestled inside someone’s stocking, just waiting to be opened. And this year, we’ve found the perfect choice in the form of the House of Suntory’s outstanding Toki Japanese Whisky.

Not only does Toki add an extra layer of refinement to the festive proceedings—after all, no one crafts whisky quite like these Japanese masters—but it also feels a little more special this time around, thanks to the legendary whisky maker’s marking of its centenary earlier this year. As such, we now have the Suntory Toki whisky in a 100th anniversary limited-edition gift box to savour in the company of family and friends.

December Deliciousness

Taking its name from the Japanese word for time, Toki is a celebration of the rich tradition that surrounds whisky craft, along with the devotion and dedication of the talented people who make it. A mix of Chita grain whisky, Hakushu malt whisky, and Yamazaki malt whisky, the resulting blend boasts a wonderfully complex flavour profile that’s as delicious in a refreshing highball—read on to discover a pair of our favourite easy-to-make recipes that are perfect for the festive season—as it is neat or on the rocks.

Starting with an aroma of basil, green apple, and honey, Toki’s flavour blossoms with layers of grapefruit, green grapes, peppermint, and thyme, before ending with a subtly sweet and spicy finish, boasting hints of vanilla oak, white pepper, and ginger. This sophisticated symphony elevates any celebratory beverage you care to build around it, adding a complexity and depth of flavour that simply can’t be beat.
