The post-credits scene of Ms. Marvel had us witness Iman Vellani’s Kamala swapping places with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, setting up the highly-anticipated film. The first trailer for The Marvels picks up shortly after this event, opening with Parris’s Captain Monica Rambeau in a spacesuit and on a mission for the Saber Space Station, which is led by none other than Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. When Rambeau hits a jump point in the space continuum, she transforms into Ms. Marvel, confirming that she, Carol, and Kamala share a unique set of transformative powers.

According to the official synopsis, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. However, unintended consequences cause Carol to shoulder the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with those of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must learn to work in concert and team up to save the universe.”

Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris will reprise their respective roles in The Marvels, and the movie will introduce several fresh new faces, including South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon, known for his role in Parasite. However, the character he will play remains a mystery at the moment. Other announced cast members include Saagar Shaikh, Zawe Ashton, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur as Kamala’s older brother, mother, and father, respectively.

The Marvels hits the big screens on November 10.
