KFC’s New Clothing Line is Finger-Lickin’ Fresh

Fashion legend Ralph Lauren once quipped that he didn’t design clothes, he designed ‘dreams’. As nice as that sounds, we’d hazard a guess that those dreams rarely involved a greasy serving of chicken with a side of potato and gravy, but times are changing. Nowadays, beauty is firmly in the eye of the bucket-holder, at least that’s what KFC is thinking with its new clothing line.

Unveiled on the eve of Australian Fashion Week 2023, the new Kentucky Fried Couture range celebrates the style of the enigmatic Colonel himself. The heritage-inspired collection comprises 25 new garments emblazoned with KFC logos from yesteryear, along with a host of modern t-shirts, hoodies and sweats that are ideal for your next date with a box of Wicked Wings.

While the new KFC clothing line does stop short of dropping a three-piece white linen shit à la the Sand-Man himself, it must be said that the new range is surprisingly fresh. The retro-themed 1978 off-white collection, which includes a hoodie and ringer shirt, marries the iconic chicken shop’s original logo with a classic vintage aesthetic. On the spicier side of things, there is also a bunch of Zinger-themed gear, including track pants, jumpers and shorts.

The new KFC merch announcement comes off the back of successful launches in the UK and overseas, where classic designs have garnered a cult following. However, there is more than just style on offer with this new drop. Sally Spriggs, CMO KFC Australia confirmed that profits from merch sales will go to supporting Aussie youth mental well-being through the KFC Youth Foundation and its charity partners: The Black Dog Institute, ReachOut Australia and Whitelion.

“We’re so excited to put KFC on the runway ahead of Sydney Fashion Week and even more thrilled to answer the call from our fans to bring this iconic range of merch to Australia with profits from sales going to support Aussie youth mental well-being through the KFC Youth Foundation,” Spriggs said.

You can check out the full range of KFC hoodies, t-shirts, socks and slides at the newly updated KFC Australia merch store. Prices start from AUD$20 for the new KFC Drumstick Socks and goes all the way up to AUD$90 for uber-stylish Colonel’s Varsity Jacket. View the full collection via the link below.
