Man, that week just flew by. We got so caught up watching the Nick Kyrgios controversy unfold, following the cruise ship battle royale play out and submitting applications for the big dick documentary, we almost forgot it was Saturday. Alas, we have arrived at the weekend and we’re dishing out more of the good stuff. Here is Man of Many’s Staff Favourites for this week.

P Frapin & Cie – 1270 Extreme
Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief
Do you want to take your scent…to the extreme? While that may sound a little crass, that’s exactly what Legendary 13th century family-owned French fragrance house P Frapin & Cie is attempting to do. The fragrance specialists have just unveiled 1270 Extreme, a floral tribute to the origins of the Frapin family, who settled in the Charente region of France in 1270. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a bottle this week and I have to admit, it’s a far journey from my normal tastes. Far more opulent than my stock-standard cologne, 1270 Extreme arrives bursting with exotic citrus notes. The brand claims they are pineapple and vanilla, but I definitely got a more rounded mandarin out of it, but then again, what do I know?

SAYE | Bio-based & Recycled Sneakers
Scott Purcell – Co-Founder
This is one of those brands I think you’ll see everywhere around Sydney soon. Remember when everyone was wearing black Vans? Well, these are next. Made with bio-based vegan napa, recycled insole, and organic cotton laces, if you care about the environment at all, these sneakers are a hard pair to beat. But don’t fret, the materials are all still super quality and super soft, meaning they’re super comfortable yet durable. My picks are the Modelo ’89 Vegan Offwhite.
KitKat x MILO
Wasn’t sure what to expect when I tucked into these after they were sent to our office but what I was left with was the familiarity of a delicious KitKat, soon followed by the maltiness and graininess of MILO. Apparently, they’re calling it the ultimate Aussie break, but don’t worry it’s not actual dry MILO inside. They’ve made it into a choc-malt fudge filling. You can find it available in block, bar and chunky forms in late July.

July Carry-On Luggage
Frank Arthur – Co-Founder
For any regular traveller, a good piece of carry-on luggage is essential. Personally, I prefer a wheeled case over a duffle or backpack. Especially for airport travel. My new luggage of choice is the July Carry On.
Sporting a crush-proof shell, TSA lock and all of the standard features you’d expect of any decent travel luggage brand, the July Carry On comes with some additional functionality that makes July luggage stand out from the crowd. One of these is the hidden laundry bag, which solves an age-old problem for anal-retentive folks like myself who don’t want to contaminate my fresh with dirty laundry.
Another key feature is the ejectable battery with USB-C. We’ve all suffered the inconvenience of standing around the power outlet for at an airport food court for what feels like an eternity waiting for a phone to charge. Having the battery docked in the luggage while also being removable allows me to be juiced up from departure right through to arrival. Best of all, Not only is this a great product functionally, it’s got stylish looks to match.

The Rapping Chef on TikTok
Denise Barnes – Head of Branded Content
Lyrical genius & chef extraordinaire, the Rapping Chef is perhaps the most entertaining way to cook. My favourite video/recipe is the one embedded above. It’s super catchy that I could listen to it on repeat and sing along, and as a bonus, I now basically know how to make braised short ribs without following a boring recipe. Even Gordon Ramsay has given him the thumbs up, and that’s saying a lot. With lyrics like the below, who wouldn’t want to give it a go? (couldn’t help myself):
“Season up the short rib right before you brown ’em
Just a little olive oil, you don’t want to drown them
Transfer to a dish that’s oven safe
Discard the oil then add a ‘lil tomato paste”
1800 Tequila Winter Cocktails
Tim Fernandes – Senior Sales & Partnerships Manager
If you associate tequila with big nights and bad decisions, you’re not treating the spirit with enough respect. Same if you only drink it in summer, or think the only delicious tequila-based cocktail is a margarita. 1800 Tequila is on the education path to showcase this premium brand is great for sipping, versatile for a range of cocktails (like Old-Fashioneds or Negronis) and also a great drink option throughout the colder months too.
The three you’d most recognise are the Silver, a classic ingredient for most cocktails and can easily replace the gin in a negroni twist. The Reposado is great for a Tequila Toddy (below) and my favourite the Anejo; 8-12 years old and aged for a minimum of 18 months in French Oak barrels. Sipping the Anjeo on the rocks is awesome with butterscotch, vanilla and spicy notes making it seem more like a premium whisky experience than drinking a tequila.

Sony INZONE H9 Headset
Rob Edwards – Branded Content Writer
Sony’s new INZONE range of headsets takes everything that makes the brand’s WH-1000XM5 headphones such a force to be reckoned with and applies it to the world of gaming. Whether you’re a PC person or the PlayStation 5 is your go-to platform, Sony’s flagship wireless H9 headphones will almost certainly enhance your experience. I was fortunate enough to try them out recently and the combination of spatial awareness provided by Sony’s 360 Reality Audio technology and the effectiveness of the cans’ noise cancelling caused me to become completely immersed in the game. That is, until I was inevitably killed by a camping sniper.
