Ares Design has breathed new life into the Porsche 964 Turbo, an embattled sports car from 1991 now modified for 2021 with the custom DNA imbued into every one of its unique creations. Refined, rather than overhauled, the Porsche 911 964 Turbo by ARES was created in the eyes of an enthusiast “who wanted to realise his dream car.”

Dubbed an object of desire that is just as exciting to drive as it is to look at, this custom Porsche 911 964 Turbo is another immaculate one-off creation from ARES Design. Following an enthusiast’s vision, the luxury coachbuilder took on this classic car’s aesthetics and mechanics and made it something else entirely.

Unlike the scepticism that greeted the Porsche 964 Turbo upon its arrival in 1991, there’s no doubting the immaculate nature of ARES Designed bespoke one-off vehicles. Tackling the rear first, ARES designers installed a new bonnet with ducktail spoiler. Moving onto the tires, ARES installed new alloy wheels, each featuring a design reminiscent of Fuchs rims – immortalised by the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 of the 1970s.

Stepping inside will introduce you to the new interior leather and tartan fabric upholstery. Decorated with a houndstooth motif, ARES Design gives a subtle shoutout to the German manufacturer’s racing cars from yesteryear, while also dropping a mention for the ARES Design Porsche 911 Targa GT3. Modern necessities have also been included with new gauges and a specifically designed PCCM infotainment system for classic Porsches.

While performance and power were never a challenge for the original Porsche 964 Turbo, ARES Design took the liberty to improve the numbers with a refined 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer, now fitted with a more powerful turbine and intercooler. Pumping out 425 Hp after the modification, it’s as fast as it is beautiful.
