If travelling in supreme luxury has you at your wit’s end, then fear not. Project Sama, the first of its kind luxury motor yacht developed through a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi is here to deliver the tranquillity you’re chasing. In addition to the new 183 metre (600ft) vessel’s 50 spacious luxury suites, each with a private balcony, the floating destination also boasts a full-scale Japanese garden.

Described as an ‘architectural vision’, Project Sama, which means tranquillity in Sanskrit, is set to launch in 2025. Created by global retreat business Aman, the vessel is designed to capture a sense of serene luxury.
By the time it does launch, the yacht will be home to a number of world-class dining options, including an informal all-day restaurant, alongside international options, a relaxed club and lounge, a serene and spacious Aman Spa, two helipads and the expansive Beach Club. This final addition is set to offer guests direct access to the water at the stern of the yacht.
“The announcement of Project Sama marks an exciting moment in Aman’s growth and evolution, as we not only continue to diversify our geographical portfolio on land, but also at sea, creating sanctuaries in unfrequented locations and continuing to reframe the concept of luxury hospitality,” Chairman and CEO of Aman, Vlad Doronin, said. “Project Sama will provide transformative experiences within the revered Aman setting and service, which is unlike any other yacht experience, ultimately creating a whole new category in on the water discovery.”

As Doronin rightly points out, Project Sama marks the continuation of Aman’s venture outside landlocked borders. Since the opening of Aman Tokyo in 2014, its first city hotel, the brand has pushed for a variety of luxury experiences in all areas. A further eight properties are under construction, with the next to open in New York later this year, but the future is looking bright, particularly in light of the Project Sama announcement.
The new design comes by way of renowned yacht firm SINO T Yacht Architecture & Design. According to the owner, the vessel brings Aman’s eastern heritage and design philosophy in one fluid creation. Project Sama is expected to launch in 2025 – its official name will be announced in due course.
