Hot on the heels of the GT2 and GT3 comes Porsche’s latest masterstroke: the 2019 911 GT3 RS. Poised to debut at the Geneva motor show in March, the upgraded GT3 is Porsche’s most formidable road-legal 911 to date. Accordingly, the brilliant, compact sports car cranks more power and speed out of its lightweight, aerodynamic body than ever before. Just how much power and speed you might ask? Reportedly, the nimble whip generates an astounding 520 hp and 346 lb-ft from a 4.0-litre six-cylinder box engine. That’s joined by a top track speed of 193 mph and the ability to go from 0 to 60 in just 3 seconds flat.
Further giving the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS its discernibly powerful edge is a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch automatic in lieu of manual transmission or all-wheel drive. Thanks to the PDK, drivers should expect absolutely seamless gear changes and the utmost in acceleration. Also featured is a premium sports exhaust system highlighted by a modest slew of silencers and converters.
On the outside, the new 911 GT3 RS rocks a steadfast assemblage of polyurethane, carbon fibre and magnesium. Inside you’ll find carbon-fibre reinforced bucket seats and a roll-cage cross bar in the back. Suffice to say, it all adds up to one truly unforgettable ride. Those seeking the tippy top shelf in power, design and performance should look no further than this fast and furious stunner.
