The ‘Perfect Spec’ Porsche 911 GT3 You Can Only Get in Australia

Porsche unveiled the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 back in February. The new car incorporated a host of new improvements, including revised front end suspension mechanics and a new ‘swan neck’ rear spoiler. Enthusiasts, however, couldn’t wait to get their hands on a ‘touring’ variant, which always presents one of the more desirable specifications in the GT3 range.

This particular model features everything we love about the road-going racecar but takes the guise of a more understated daily driver. Removing the swan neck but keeping the symphonious 9000rpm screamer and nimble chassis, it’s a recipe for success. What we weren’t expecting was a limited run of ‘perfect spec’ GT3’s exclusive to the Aussie market.

Aussie Porsche fanatics jumped out of their seat when Porsche Australia unveiled the exclusive 70 Years special edition. This model is what we would refer to as ‘perfect spec’ which essentially means, the most desirable, smart, road-going variant we’d be more than happy to drive every single day.

The touring model keeps the same 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine mounted over the rear axle as the standard GT3 but adds a host of new features. Featuring an active wing (from the standard Carerra) to dress down an otherwise track-focused car. In standard touring spec, you’ll also find anodised aluminium trim strips on the side windows and silver exhaust tips which you can option satin black.

On top of the options offered in ‘Touring’ Specification, the Australian Exclusive 70 Years edition adds even more standard features, drawing inspiration from one of the first two Porsche 356 vehicles imported to Australia in 1951. Let’s check them out.

CarAdvice reports that roughly 25 examples of the special edition will hit the Australian Porsche dealer network, with first deliveries set to commence at the end of 2021. Thankfully, the exclusive model will feature the option of both manual and automatic transmission options. Priced at AU$494,400 it’s more than $120,000 more expensive than a standard ‘touring’ model, however, expect this ‘Perfect Spec’ 911 GT3 to sell out quickly. Very quickly.
