James Bond Goldfinger Golf

This Limited Edition James Bond Golf Gift Set Ensures Cheats Never Prosper

The masterpiece that was 1964’s Goldfinger produced one of the most iconic golf scenes in all of cinema. After catching his villainous opponent cheating on the course, James Bond brings a little gamesmanship of his own into play, switching balls and leading to the legendary lines on the 18th green: “Here’s my Penfold Hearts. You must have played the wrong ball somewhere on the 18th fairway. We are playing strict rules, so I’m afraid you lose the hold and the match.” In celebration of his cunning victory, Penfold’s has now released a limited edition 007 golf gift set to take down your pesky playing partners and ensure cheats never prosper.

As Sean Connery fans would know, the actor was a very, very keen golfer. According to Honor Blackman, who played Bond girl Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, his obsession with the game became a running joke on set. “The great joke about him (Sean Connery) was his absolute obsession about golf. He was mad about it. A real addict. The rest of us had to steer him away from the subject or he’d go on for hours, giving us a ball-by-ball replay,” she reveled.

The 007 x Penfold Golf Gift Set is available to purchase here for USD$150. While you’re at it, check out Connery’s smooth swing from the iconic Goldfinger scene below.
