Lego operates the Lego Ideas website, which is a site that allows creative fans to submit ideas for future Lego sets. After an idea gets 10,000 votes on the site, Lego will then consider offering the set for sale. If their sets are chosen to sell, the designers earn a percentage of the sale.
We came across a fantastic build on the Lego Ideas website created by Chiho Kim, the Lego Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The Rubicon is one of the most recognisable off-road vehicles ever produced. Kim put an impressive amount of detail into this Lego set. It is evident that he spent countless hours getting everything perfect and we are quite impressed with the result.
The Lego Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has spot-on proportions and includes most of the features of a real Jeep Rubicon—right down to the removable top and tow hook located under the rear bumper. The size of this concept is the same ratio of official LEGO packages, such as the BMW Mini.
Other features include a roll cage, seven-slot grille, 62 mm tires, a license plate and small fire extinguisher. There is even a tiny Lego engine and GPS system in the mini centre stack. Also included in this set are a miniature DSLR camera, yellow caution cones and a rear-mounted spare tire.
Based on the Lego Ideas website, it looks like Kim already achieved the 10,000 votes needed for this concept to come to life. We have to say that we can’t wait to see the Lego Jeep Wrangler Rubicon idea come to life.
