Virgil Abloh has been the name on the tip of everyone’s tongues in the design world as of late. He is known for his innovative collaborations with brands from Nike to Ikea and perhaps most famously for being the new men’s artistic director of the fashion design empire Louis Vuitton as of March this year.
In his much-anticipated runway debut, Virgil Abloh presented the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring-Summer 2019 Collection in Paris yesterday, 21 June. The A-list celebrities that attended the show in support of Abloh, included Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, Kim Kardashian, Alexander Skarsgard, Chadwick Boseman, Ansel Elgort, Bella Hadid, Naomi Campell, Travis Scott and Rita Ora to name but a few.
With a big focus on whites as the show opened, it progressed into a more colourful street style affair with cross body bags as a major focal point. We won’t give away too much of the runway show details and the beautiful garments, instead, you can check out some of the photos below or simply watch the entire 15-minute show yourself.
One of our personal favourite and downright emotional moments from the show happened right at the end when Virgil Abloh walked the rainbow coloured super runway himself to take the final bow, and was met by his friend and fellow fashion mogul Kanye West. Kanye got so emotional with tears of joy as he hugged and congratulated Abloh. Well deserved. We’re already at the edge of our seats to see what the great Mr. Abloh and Louis Vuitton has in store for us next.
