Start Your Day with Kellogg’s Cornflakes Nitro Milkshake IPA Beer

Here’s the new breakfast of champions. Kellogg’s recently released a limited edition cornflakes-infused Nitro Milkshake IPA. Kelloggs teamed up with One Drop Brewing Company to put the beer together. The recipe is pretty straightforward and about what you would expect. The beer starts out with a big serving of Corn Flakes, which is followed up with milky lactose, fresh fruits, and vanilla. Early testers report that the flavor is sweet, fruity, and creamy and that it has notes of strawberry, passionfruit, coconut, and mango.

“We’ve seen the craft beer market grow exponentially the past few years and we wanted to bring a fresh take to the scene,” says Nick Calder, head brewer of One Drop Brewing Co. “Using one of Kellogg’s best-selling cereals to produce a trendy Nitro Milkshake IPA was an amazing opportunity to create something different.” The beer is available on tap at the brewer’s Botany, New South Wales, location as well as select craft beer venues and sells for $9.

This isn’t Kellogg’s first venture into craft brewing. Last year saw the company pairing with Hallertau brewery in New Zealand for a Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Sour Ale. Kellogg’s does have a long history in Botany, though. For the past 90 years, the company has been making Corn Flakes there. Partnering with One Drop Brewing was a natural choice. “We’ve always had a love of combining innovation with great tasting product at Kellogg,” said Bruno Madonna, Director of Research and Technology for Kellogg. “Kellogg’s Corn Flakes has been a catalyst to many amazing creations over the years so partnering with local Botany brewery, One Drop, seemed like a no brainer. This beer is a fun way to remind Aussies of the versatility of cereal.”

Just remember, before you crack a can of Kellogg’s Cornflake Nitro Milkshake IPA open for breakfast, it is a nitro and needs to be shook to create a creamy body and a foamy head.
