Kanye West Returns to Instagram with a Big McDonald’s Announcement

In his long-awaited return to Instagram following a suspension from the platform back in March, Ye posted an image of what can be described as a new box design that features the fast-food giant’s signature golden arches. Next week it’s the fries,’ he wrote on his Instagram Stories, referencing his 2005 track Gold Digger where he rapped, ‘This week he moppin’ floors, next week it’s the fries.’

Utilising a boxy shape, faded details and transparent wrapper, the design has a distinct Yeezy flavour. Much like his clothing, the packaging is extremely minimal and understated.

This marks the second project the two parties have collaborated on in 2022, with West appearing in a commercial for the food company during a Super Bowl commercial earlier this year. A shocking partnership to some, but Kanye featured in a McDonald’s Instagram post with then-wife Kim Kardashian back in 2020, revealing their favourite food item. According to the video, Kanye would order a milkshake, a side of fries, Chicken McNuggets, and Tangy BBQ sauce while Kim went for Chicken McNuggets, shake, French Fries, hamburger, and apple pie.

The announcement also serves as the first time Kanye has posted on Instagram after he received a temporary suspension for attacking Kim and her boyfriend Pete Davidson on the platform. According to TMZ, a spokesperson for MEta stated the 44-year-old rapper had violated their policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying. Ye posted that he was ‘really concerned’ Davidson would get Kardashian ‘hooked on drugs’ and demanded the comedian ‘apologize to your family for being in your family.’

With the Teflon Don-da back on social media, we wait to see what controversy he stirs up next.
