International homestay booking site Airbnb has had some sweet promotions in the past, but, at least for art lovers, this might be their best one yet.
For one night, you could stay under the most iconic glass pyramid in the world, at Paris’ Louvre museum, alongside some of the most famous and priceless examples of art in the world. With entries open until 12:59 pm on the 12th of this month, Paris time, the custom-built pop-up bedroom is in partnership with the museum to celebrate 30 years since the instantly recognisable annex’s construction.
Competition winners will be greeted by an art historian and taken on a private tour, before enjoying aperitifs and droppin’ the needle into the slot of some classic French vinyl by Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Dinner will then be served alongside the Greek goddess of love and beauty Venus de Milo, before a private acoustic concert in Napoleon III’s chambers, which look like a cross between Dorian Gray’s storeroom and Donald Trump’s bathroom.
At the end of the night, guests will sleep in the pyramid-shaped bedroom which is custom built to sit beneath the larger glass structure. Little information has been given as to just how private that room will be, given the less-than-opaque nature of the structure, but remember that it’s Paris after all, the romance capital of the world.
