Feast your eyes on the new Range Rover SV Carmel Edition, the most expensive Range Rover ever made and one you definitely won’t be able to buy. Limited to 17 examples for the North American market, the stunning piece of automotive luxury is named after a rugged bit of the Pacific coastline in California and much like its neighbouring Bel Air residences arrives with a bevy of baller features.

Revealed at the ‘Range Rover house’, an expansive property that overlooks the aforementioned Pacific Ocean, the Range Rover SV Carmel Edition sits at the top tier of the iconic SUV line-up. Inspired by the landscape found along the coastline and coves around Carmel, California, the Carmel Edition is identified by its bespoke Satin Bronze exterior along with SV 23-inch Diamond Turned wheels finished in Dark Grey Gloss with matching Satin Bronze inserts. Inside, there is a new dual-tone near-aniline leather interior which features ‘Liberty Blue’ front seats with Caraway contrast rear seats.
This special edition comes with the four-seat SV Signature Suite and is decked out with a front-to-rear console that runs across the full length of the cabin and which also includes an electrically powered club table, electric cupholders and an in-built refrigerator with SV-etched Dartington Crystal glassware. Some more distinctive interior elements include Gloss White ceramic controls and Satin White ceramic finishers with embossed mosaic. The rear seats also feature exclusive Carmel Edition embroidery while there are exterior SV Bespoke Puddle Lamps, while SV Bespoke branded treadplates that feature the Carmel Edition word mark with a 1 of 17 designations round off the changes.

Priced at AUD$496,800 (USD$345,000) each, the Range Rover SV Carmel Edition is only available with the 523hp V8 Twin Turbo engine (naturally) while Land Rover will also be donating a portion of proceeds from each vehicle to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Guests of Range Rover House, an invite-only facility for current Range Rover owners would be given the first opportunity to own the Carmel Edition. With this special edition, the Range Rover is further solidifying its emphasis on being a Bentley/Roll-Royce rivalling luxury car.
