Porsche 911 Carreras have been icons for longer than most people can remember.
There’s a reason for that.
They have a tradition of reliability and performance. They produce beautiful designs that are executed in luxurious models. You can go on and on about all the attributes of Porsche, in fact.
Given all of this, you would think that Porsche would just tap into that legacy when coming out with a new car, and they do to an extent. But you don’t stay the leader of the pack without advancement, so Porsche also approaches each new 911 with the idea of having a fresh start and an opportunity for an even better car.
The new generation of 911s features their most powerful and efficient engines yet. The new Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) is an eight-speed monster capable of 443 horsepower with a 3.6 second 0 to 100 speed and a top speed of 188 miles per hour.
Porsche’s new approach has even more forward thrust being delivered to the road in a more effective manner. Add in the new Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and reactiveness becomes more sporty, while the ride becomes more comfortable.
The 911 is also equipped with driver assistance systems like Lane Keeping Assist, traffic recognition, and Night Vision Assist.
The exterior has also been updated, with one goal being to more fully unite the look of all the different Porsche lines out there. And the inside? Just what you would expect from Porsche—luxury and comfort.
