Volcon Beast UTV Looks and Acts Like a Grown-Up Halo Warthog

After a successful crowdfunding campaign, in which all-electric powersport company Volcon was able to raise over $2.5 million from more than 1,000 investors, Volcon tallied up more than $4.5 million to get their vision of off-roading vehicles up and running. The Grunt, its electric motorcycle, had a successful pre-order period, and now Volcon is moving on into UTVs. The first announced vehicle was the Stag, but things are getting bigger and meaner with the new Beast UTV.

What you’ll be investing in is the Volcon Beast UTV. Much like the name suggests, this UTV is a beast. For starters, it houses a 160kW motor—essentially twice the power of the previously announced Stag. The Beast is said to have a range of 150 miles, and a top speed of 70 miles per hour. It will also have 600 ft-lbs of torque, granting this UTV the ability to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a matter of 4.5 seconds.

There are several battery sizes available as well, including a 46kWh and a 92kWh options. The Beast comes with advanced traction control as well as an active suspension system. As for looks, you’ll see a lot of similarities between the Beast and other side-by-side gas vehicles on the market, but there’s also a fair dash of Halo’s Warthog thrown in for good measure. The beast measures 77 inches wide, giving credence to its name. The roll cage finishes off the look, and just to make sure that this beast isn’t all bite and no bark, the drivetrain is water-resistant, so it won’t be wimping out when it gets splashed.

Volcon also recently announced pricing on their UTVs. The Stag will start at $14,995 while the Beast comes in at a menacing $24,995. The Stag entered the market in the third quarter of 2021, while the beast is looking to start prowling the back trails in the first quarter of 2022.
