Powered by a 10-kW brushless electric motor, a host of Electric Ducted Fan (EDF) motors, and a 2,400-Wh lithium-ion battery, the Daymak C5 Blast definitely makes good on its explosive name. Thanks to those EDF motors, the super-fast go-kart comes in light, which helps explain the impressive acceleration time. To slink behind the wheel of this custom-made bad boy is to get as close to flying as the street will allow. Driving home that breakneck vibe is the go-kart’s race car-like design (sans roof).

Meanwhile, Daymak has been dreaming about an even lighter and faster model since 2017. According to President Aldo Baiocchi, “We could actually make it lighter and faster and at some point, the go-kart would start floating like the Star Wars land speeder or we could add wings and it would fly.” It just goes to show that there’s always room for improvement and a need for speed. In other words, even the world’s fastest go-kart isn’t fast enough, according to those who created it.
