Consisting of four premium models, the Samsung Galaxy S10 range has modern performance on lock. Yes, that means things like a cinema-grade AMOLED display, epic real estate, and advanced camera technology, but we’re also swept away by a new feature called Instagram Mode.
As the name suggests, this camera app delivers a newfound tier of accessibility to Instagram, allowing you to upload content at the mere touch of a button. Simultaneously, it puts the full spectrum of lenses and pro-grade camera technology at your disposal (full disclosure: the zoom lens isn’t available on the S10e). We know, we know: it’s a feature so obvious that we’re surprised it didn’t pop up ages ago. Nevertheless, we’re beyond glad it’s finally here.
We have no shame in admitting that we’re hooked on Instagram just like everyone else, and the Samsung Galaxy S10 has downright spoiled us in terms of how we utilise the social media platform. What was once a process that took a few steps now takes one. To call this a point of no return would be an understatement. After all, have you ever reversed course on a technological shortcut? Neither have we.
Whether you’re uploading a story, a picture, or a video, Instagram Mode is your friend. All you need to do is open the camera app and scroll across to Instagram Mode. Next, you either click to take a photo or hold the shutter button to record video. Upon completion, the app takes you directly onto Instagram, thereby delivering the shortcut you didn’t know you needed until this very moment.
Naturally, you can also upload content directly from your Galaxy S10 gallery. For that, you pick the photo or video and then tap on the adjoining Instagram icon. Not only does it give you the option to share content on your feed or as a story, but it also leaves room for comments and hashtags.
As if this easy thing couldn’t get any easier, you can set it up so that you’re able to record and upload full-screen videos or pictures without even opening the app. It all makes for a seamless and, frankly, brainless process. Again, this is more than an app or a shortcut, it’s basically a point of no return.
Of course, it’s all par for the course with the new Samsung Galaxy S10 range. Everything about these phones screams with optimisation and usability. Beyond the aforementioned features are highlights like Infinity-O Display, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, prime gaming technology, AR emojis, next-generation WiFi, and Bixby on steroids (i.e. top-shelf AI).
So is Instagram Mode the ultimate selling point or mere icing on the cake? Well, that probably depends on how much you personally use the ubiquitous social media platform. For us, however, it’s an absolute game-changer.
