Chronoswiss Regulator watch with a silver guilloche dial, blue hands, and a black leather strap on a white background
The Chronoswiss Regulator Manufacture features a classic silver guilloche dial

Chronoswiss Regulator Manufacture

Chronoswiss is the king of regulators, having being the first manufacturer to produce a regulator watch in series with the Régulateur. The Regulator Manufacture is a super classical piece whose design really emphasises tradition, heritage and the brand’s recognisable culture. The Regulator Manufacture is available in either stainless steel or 18k gold, each measuring 40mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. The Regulator Manufacture’s dial is mesmerising and is made in sterling silver, featuring a guilloche pattern and thermally blued steel hands. The finishing touches of the case ribbings, onion crown and wire lugs round off a very intriguing watch.

Omega Constellation watch with a rose gold case, blue textured dial, and a blue leather strap
The Omega Constellation Master Chronometer features a striking blue textured dial

Omega Constellation Master Chronometer 39

This new boutique edition from Omega is a wonderful iteration of an age-old classic. The new Constellation Master Chronometer 39 is clad in 18k Sedna gold, features a gold bezel engraved with Roman numerals and features a Master Chronometer certified manufacture movement. There is a certain harmony of colours at play here. Blues and golds adorn the Constellation Master Chronometer 39 to dramatic effect. The play on that textured silk-embossed dial does wonders from the aesthetic appeal of the watch, and also adds a dimension of design that the Constellation Master Chronometer 39 would otherwise certainly have needed. Interestingly enough to note, all of the dial’s markings and additions are solid 18k Sedna gold, too.

  • Brand: Omega
  • Model: Constellation Co-Axial Master Chronometer 39 mm
  • Reference: 131.53.39.20.03.001

A Pedrozo & Piriz rectangular watch with a black dial, gold indices, and two visible tourbillons on a black leather strap
The Pedrozo & Piriz PP01 features a striking dual tourbillon design

Pedrozo & Piriz PP01

We spoke of a brand new independent watchmaker earlier, and here it is. This is the PP01, the first watch from Pedrozo Piriz. This balls-to-the-wall, neo-classical timepiece features a double tourbillon encased in a mixture of pink gold and titanium. The 41.50mm by 46.90mm rectangular case is in itself quite impressive, but the focus here is, of course, on those two flying tourbillons covering the bottom half of the dial. An interesting point here is that once the PP01’s 72 hours of power reserve dwindles to its last 2 hours, one of the tourbillons will stop. This level of ingenuity comes at a cost, however. You’re looking at close to a quarter of a million AUD for this beauty.

  • Brand: Pedrozo & Piriz
  • Model: PP01
  • Case Diameter: 41.50mm × 46.90mm (rectangular)
  • Case Thickness: 13.05mm
  • Case Material: Titanium and 18k rose gold
  • Water Resistance: 30 metres
  • Movement: Hand-wound double flying tourbillon with differential; 21,600 vph; 323 parts; 45 jewels
  • Power Reserve: 72 hours
  • Strap: Black alligator leather with titanium pin buckle
  • Price (at launch): CHF 150,500 (Approx. AUD$250,000)

A black Corum Lab 01 watch with blue accents and a skeletonised dial resting on crumpled silver fabric
The Corum Lab 01 features a striking skeletonised dial and blue accents

Corum Lab 01

Corum has released two new models to its Lab 01 collection. Both models are made in the very uncommon material of Damascus steel which leaves a distinctive wavy pattern that is basically unique to the block being used. The new Lab 01 pieces will be made available in either a blue or green colour scheme, with the blue model being the more subtle of the two. The models each feature an openworked dial with the crown situated at 6 o’clock. This modern, almost futuristic watch is somewhat polarising, but I quite like its virtuous approach, especially in this contemporary market.
