Sydney Harbour has no shortage of charter boats, but very few of them look or feel like Evolution. The 39-metre (128ft) Oceanfast superyacht has been reintroduced by CHAPMAN Yachting under a banner it calls A NEW EVOLUTION, and the idea is simple: take a serious superyacht and pair it with the kind of food, drink and experiences that usually sit well beyond the boat itself.
Think Nobu Sydney, Gelato Messina, Moët Hennessy, Papa Salt Coastal Gin, Sydney Seaplanes and Broken Bay Pearl Farm. Add room for 70 guests, interiors by Henderson & Co that feel closer to a New York residence than a typical yacht, and charters on Sydney Harbour from $3,700 an hour, and you have one of the more interesting ways to spend a summer afternoon on the water.

1. A Superyacht That Feels Like a Residence
Built by Oceanfast in 2008, Evolution stretches to 39 metres with five separate entertaining areas and gyroscopic stabilisation to keep things comfortable underway. Inside, Henderson & Co has created something contemporary and considered, with wide, spacious interiors that read more like a well-appointed apartment than a traditional superyacht.
Outside is where she really earns her keep. There are expansive aft decks, a single-level flybridge that can be left open to the sun or shaded under a full canopy, open-air bars and modular lounges, plus quieter spots at the bow and swim platform when you want to step away from the crowd.
- Length: 39 metres (128ft)
- Builder: Oceanfast, 2008
- Guest areas: Five, including a single-level flybridge
- Interiors: Henderson & Co

2. An À La Carte Bar and Menus With a Racing Pedigree
The headline change aboard Evolution is the à la carte bar, which lets guests order individual drinks rather than committing to a set package, with the drinks list shaped by CHAPMAN’s relationships with Moët Hennessy and Papa Salt. Catering comes from Elite Chefs Sydney, and the menus lean into the yacht’s thoroughbred racing heritage: Phar Lap, Cox Plate and Winx canapés, Flemington and Ascot buffets and a formal dining menu named Darwin’s.
Expect Sydney Rock oysters, tuna tartare, crispy pork belly and Black Angus sirloin, with wagyu carpaccio and baby snapper on the formal side. Live stations take it further, from porchetta carved to order and pasta finished in a Parmesan wheel to oyster shucking and hosted caviar service. Nobu dining and Messina gelato can also be arranged.
- Bar: À la carte, plus beverage packages
- Drinks partners: Moët Hennessy, Papa Salt
- Catering: Elite Chefs Sydney
- Formats: Canapés, buffets, three-, four- or six-course formal dining with wine pairing

3. Room for 70 Guests and Any Kind of Occasion
With space for up to 70 guests for cocktail-style events, Evolution is built for everything from milestone birthdays and product launches to corporate entertaining and intimate dinners. Formal dining seats 10 inside or six outside, and the five entertaining areas mean a big group never feels crammed into one deck.
The soundtrack is part of the brief too. CHAPMAN Radio playlists curated with DJ Arianna Sunshine cover Party | Nocturne, Euro Summer | Côte d’Azur and Chill | Ocean State, or you can bring your own playlist, book a DJ or a live performer, and add your own styling to make the yacht feel like your event rather than someone else’s.
- Cocktail capacity: Up to 70 guests
- Formal dining: 10 inside or six outside
- Music: CHAPMAN Radio playlists, your own, or a DJ
- Styling: Bring your own decorations

4. Overnight Stays, Pittwater and Beyond
For longer charters, Evolution sleeps eight guests across a master suite, two VIP cabins and a double cabin, each with its own ensuite. Pittwater is the natural extension to a Sydney charter, with Sydney Seaplanes transfers connecting guests to the yacht and excursions to Broken Bay Pearl Farm among the local experiences on offer.
Beyond the Sydney-focused launch, CHAPMAN flags the Whitsundays, the Northern Territory and the South Pacific as potential destinations for extended trips, subject to availability, itinerary planning and operating requirements.
- Overnight guests: Eight
- Cabins: Master suite, two VIP, one double, all ensuite
- Transfers: Sydney Seaplanes to Pittwater
- Longer trips: Whitsundays, Northern Territory, South Pacific (subject to planning)

5. Watersports and Experiences Off the Back
When it is time to get in the water, Evolution can be paired with Fliteboarding, kiteboarding, scuba diving, aqua golf and inflatable slides. CHAPMAN coordinates the activities around the dining, bar service, transfers and local experiences, with availability, conditions and any additional charges confirmed during planning.
- Options: Fliteboarding, kiteboarding, scuba diving, aqua golf, inflatable slides
- Planning: Coordinated by CHAPMAN around your charter
- Charges: Confirmed during planning

How Much Does It Cost to Charter Evolution?
Summer vessel hire for Evolution starts from $3,700 per hour for up to 40 guests, or $4,000 per hour for 41 to 70 guests, with a four-hour minimum. Hire includes marine crew and fuel. Catering, beverages, wait staff, chef fees and wharf fees are additional, and rates vary by season, so final pricing is confirmed on enquiry.

Evolution boards from five accessible Sydney wharves: Eastern Pontoon, Campbell’s Cove, King Street #9, Casino Wharf and Walsh Bay #2 Pontoon. Day, event and overnight charters are all available, subject to availability, and the yacht is also offered for sale through CHAPMAN Yachting.

“Evolution is the largest superyacht we’ve brought to the charter market, and we’ve put a great deal behind this launch,” says Cooper Chapman, Founder and Group CEO of CHAPMAN Yachting. “The à la carte bar, refreshed dining and connections beyond the yacht are central to A NEW EVOLUTION. We’re excited to reintroduce her to Sydney this summer.”
