Whether you’ve caught yourself wondering how they got Arnie to sign up for TV or you’re still trying to understand why Matthew McConaughey was cast as Elvis, Netflix does not care. The monstrous streamer has already moved on, dropping another delicious round of binge-worthy material to keep you entertained and occupied while they try to figure out which sport to Drive to Survive next. This month, it’s more of the same – a schedule locked and loaded with a big dawg buffet of movies, series and documentaries set to square your eyes and drain your brain. From the screen return of Big ‘Dris in Luther: The Fallen Sun to whatever Adam Sandler is doing in Murder Mystery 2, Netflix isn’t placing all its eggs in one basket, and neither should you. Best New Series on Netflix
The whole reason we come to the streamer in the first place, new Netflix series launches are absolute gold. This month, we’ve got a whole host of new releases and the return of some old favourites. Here are the best new series coming to Netflix in March 2023.
You: Season 4 Part 2
Penn Badgley’s serial killer with a heart of gold finds himself in London for the second part of You season four. This time around, the former bookstore attendant turned murderer turned professor is extra-bearded and trying to stay on the straight and narrow. Of course, he winds up with a new obsession and (we’re only speculating here) it isn’t sudoku.

Outlast
Billed (by this writer) as Netflix’s version of the hit survival show Alone, Outlast is another journey deep into the outdoor wilderness. In this not-so-cheap knockoff, 16 survivalists are thrust into the Alaskan wild competing for a chance to win a massive cash prize.

Riverdale: Season 7
Dear god, please let this show die. After six seasons, multiple incestuous relationships, an apocalypse and seemingly normal characters suddenly gaining superpowers through the magic of lesbian-ism, Riverdale is somehow back for another round. This season, Archie has joined a terrorist organisation, Betty is tinkering with hydro-mechanics and Jughead sells his soul to Ticketek for an all-access pass to Harry Styles’ world tour.
Or not, I don’t know. I didn’t watch the trailer.
Release Date: March 30
Agent Elvis
When Matthew McConaughey was named as the voice of Elvis Presley in Netflix’s upcoming animated action comedy Agent Elvis, the world was stunned. Three weeks later and we’re still confused. Nevertheless, in this new series, Elvis trades his jumpsuit for a jetpack, joining a secret spy program to stop villains from destroying the world. It looks alright, alright, alright.
Release Date: Coming soon
Sex/Life: Season 2
The most awkwardly bingeable show on television returns in March, giving us all the more reason to squirm in our seats. For anyone who hasn’t seen it, Sex/Life follows a suburban wife and mother who takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane. As memories flood back from her wild-child past, she finds herself on a collision course with destiny. All you need to know is that there are a lot of racy encounters, sad scenes and everyone in the show is aggressively good-looking.

Best New Movies on Netflix
While the quality of Netflix’s films is a bit up and down, this month, the streamer has thrown its weight behind one major release. Here are the best new movies on Netflix this month.
Luther: The Fallen Sun
This is the big one, the long-awaited return of Idris Elba‘s disgruntled, hard-nosed detective John Luther. After years spent off the screens, the BBC-born drama has found new life in the hallowed halls of Netflix HQ and judging by the trailer, they’ve actually done the original some justice.
The film kicks off with Luther escaping prison to capture a cyber psychopath David Robey, played by The Batman and Lord of the Rings fan favourite Andy Serkis. The trailer sees Odette Raine (Cynthia Erivo) inform detective superintendent Martin Schenk, played by Dermot Crowley, that Luther’s no longer in prison and Schenk doesn’t seem much surprised.
Luther: The Fallen Sun sees Neil Cross, the Luther franchise writer, returning to pen down the script for the film which is directed by Jaime Payne. Elba also serves as a producer on the project alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready and Neil Cross. Besides Elba, Dermot Crowley will also be reprising his role as Martin Schenk, Luther’s former boss.
Release Date: March 10
Murder Mystery 2
Ok, so the first one was pretty average, but it was a bit of fun and Jennifer Anniston is still an absolute smokeshow, so we’ll probably tune in for round two. Adam Sandler’s pseudo-detective comedy franchise sees the budding pair struggling to get their private eye agency off the ground, before suddenly finding themselves at the centre of an international abduction.

Tonight You’re Sleeping with Me
Holy sh*t, what a problematic title. Netflix’s QC team has presumably taken a hot break this month and this new spicy drama is watchable proof. Here’s the official synopsis “Stuck in a passionless marriage, a journalist must choose between her distant but loving husband and a younger ex-boyfriend who has reentered her life”. Yikes.

New Documentaries on Netflix
This month, Netflix has streamlined the number of new documentaries, focusing on the cross-section of murder and porn. Here are the best new documentaries coming to Netflix in March 2023.
Money Shot: The Pornhub Story
Let’s face it, you’re going to watch this. You also know who all the performers are. Money Shot: The Pornhub Story takes you inside the bizarre life of some of the world’s top porn creators, while also touching on the contentious nature of the unique platform.
“This enabled erotic content creators to reach a massive audience while the company made billions of dollars, but it also became embroiled in allegations including non-consensual material and trafficking on the site,” the official synopsis read. “As anti-trafficking organisations seek justice for victims, can the online giant protect those from whom they profit, or is this a new wave of censorship for adult performers making consensual porn?”

The three-part series unpacks the Texas tragedy that saw cult leader David Koresh face off against the federal government in a bloody 51-day siege. Impressively, the series is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tiller Russell (Night Stalker) and features exclusive access to recently unearthed videotapes filmed inside the FBI Crisis Negotiation Unit.
