Those who know Clarks Originals know that the brand loves to get around in a good way. Their willingness to collaborate has yielded some of the best and most iconic footwear to grace the industry, each pair crafted with an absolute devotion toward design and material. The latest company to team up with Clarks Originals and reap the benefits of putting a bunch of diverse, brilliant minds under one figurative roof is UK-based luxury retailer END. The result of their teamwork is the beautiful ‘Black Diamond’ chukka boot.
Taking its name and inspiration from the historic, fruitful coal mines in the North East of England (also the location of END’s flagship store), the new Black Diamond boot is made from premium coal black leather and suede. The material is sourced from Charles F. Stead and his Leeds tannery, the same tannery that has been providing Clarks Originals with leather and suede for decades. The Black Diamond uses both sides of that double-faced bovine leather to provide dreamy, premium texture as well as a jaw-dropping shade of black. For the upper, Clarks and END paired a Clarks Desert Boot last with a Desert Trek wedge sole using black and silver stitching–that’s adorned by three eyelets, vegetable tan fobs and a woven heel.
We’re all aware that black is and always will be the new black. Throw these babies on your feet and expect to clog pedestrian traffic as people stop and stare. The boots really are that stunning, and are currently available exclusively at Up There Store, Melbourne and Cabinet Noir, Perth.
