Nike has unveiled the new uniforms that will be worn by the Matildas through to 2026, including the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026, and by the Socceroos throughout the remainder of their AFC Asian Qualifiers as they continue their toward the FIFA World Cup 2026. Both green and gold zig-zag (home) and black and neon (away) kits will be the same for both teams and are designed by Kamilaroi artist Reko Rennie.

The Matildas debuted the uniform in the SheBelieves Cup against Japan this morning where they went down 4-0. With Sam Kerr sidelined, the Matildas struggled with a lack of offense and the team only managed one shot on goal throughout the entire match. This, combined with some confusion on the defensive side of the ball after a goal in the 6th minute by Mina Tanaka, due to a failed clearance, meant that Matildas were on the back foot throughout the game. The Socceroos will debut the new kit in the AFC Asian Qualified against Indonesia on Thursday 20th March 2025 at 8.00 pm.

“This kit launch marks a significant moment for Australian football,” said Nike Pacific Brand Director Nick Atkinson. “It’s a powerful message of cultural visibility and unity that celebrates the diversity of the Australian football community, and the game’s power to unite. Nike are proud to partner with Reko Rennie and Football Australia for this Collection and are excited to see Australia supporting their National Teams in this new green and gold.”

This is the first time an Australian Football Team kit has been designed by a First Nations artist, and Nike has partnered with renowned artist Reko Rennie for the design. Made from the latest Nike DRI-FIT ADV technology, the Home jersey features a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic green and gold with a zig-zag design, and is paired with deep green shorts. Meanwhile, the Away kit features a version of the new pattern on the side panel of both the jersey and shorts, with the addition of Rennie’s signature pink to represent a modern interpretation of the ochre found in First Nations art.

Finally, the Aboriginal Flag is found on the inner pride position in both the home and away kits.

“It’s been incredible to work on these kits, connecting the game I love, First Nations culture and the athletes and fans who make up the Australian football community,” said Reko Rennie. “It’s a huge achievement and it’s so wild that I’ve had this opportunity and I’m representing my community. If someone had told 12-year-old Reko, a diehard football fan, that one day I’d have this opportunity, I would have never believed them!”

Football Australia CEO, James Johnson said: “Football Australia is incredibly proud to unveil the first-ever national team jersey designed by a First Nations artist, marking a historic milestone for our sport. This collection embodies the essence of our ‘Forever Forging Forward’ philosophy – championing progress, inclusivity, and excellence at every level of the game.

The new Australian National Football Team Collection is available now at nike.com below, the Football Australia online shop, and through retail partners rebel, Ultra Football and SPT Football. The jerseys are priced at AUD$100 for youth sizes, $125 AUD for stadium jerseys, and AUD$180 for a match jersey.
