KFC is bringing breakfast to more Australian restaurants, including a scrumptious-looking Brekkie Tower burger. We’re talking an Original Crispy chicken fillet, bacon, egg, cheese, tomato relish and the all-important hash brown, all stacked into a soft burger bun. And with the option to swap in a Zinger fillet, it’s one hell of a way to start the day.
Sadly, the upgraded menu doesn’t (yet) include our dream breakfast of KFC chicken and waffles. What we do have is a mix of breakfast classics, from BLATS to wraps, with sweet and smoky tomato relish, fresh avocado and, of course, that delicious Kentucky Fried chicken and its 11 secret herbs and spices.
Following a successful trial at Sydney Airport, KFC is expanding breakfast to 16 restaurants across the Gold Coast and 13 across Melbourne CBD. The new menu is available from 6am on Tuesday 8 September, giving early risers another option beyond the usual bacon-and-egg from the clown or the hungriest bloke named Jack.
1/8What’s on the KFC Breakfast Menu?
The Brekkie Tower is the obvious place to start, but there’s plenty more for anyone who doesn’t fancy unhinging their jaw before work. The Ultimate Brekkie Wrap makes it a little easier, packing an Original Crispy fillet, bacon, egg, cheese, mayo and tomato relish into a toasted tortilla. On the simpler side of the fryer is the Chicken Toastie, which keeps to the basics with chicken, cheese and Pepper Mayo in a Turkish bun.
You can also grab a Chicken, Bacon & Egg Roll, a standard Bacon & Egg Roll, a BLAT, Avo Toast or a Bacon & Egg Pocket. Hash browns are also available separately if you’re craving a few more. For those who want an extra kick in their breakfast, you can swap out the Original Crispy fillet for a Zinger, and why wouldn’t you.
But the real pick-me-up comes from the new range of made-to-order hot drinks, which is just a fancier way of saying tea and coffee. And they’re rather proud of their coffee too, describing it as a full-bodied blend with notes of nut, chocolate and caramel.
Where Can You Get KFC Breakfast?
You won’t find KFC Breakfast at every location around Australia. Gold Coast locations include Ashmore, Arundel, Southport, Surfers Paradise and Pacific Fair, while Melbourne locations include Elizabeth Street, Melbourne Central, Swanston Street, Spencer Street and Collins Street.
You can order it the old-fashioned way at the counter or through the KFC App at participating locations.
But if the Brekkie Tower proves popular, perhaps there’s still hope for chicken and waffles next time. I mean, they just did Pickles, for goodness sake!
