After releasing one of our favourite New Balance of the year by way of a 990v3 masterpiece, Bodega has returned to grace the Y2K friendly 9060 with all the hairy suede touches, medium blues, and cream hues you’d expect.
Set to release in Australia on 15/12/2022 at 10:00 am (Australia/Melbourne) the shoe is an extension to a long line of upcoming 9060 collaborations and general release iterations. It’s a shoe that we haven’t been able to take off our feet since we copped the brown and black pair earlier this month.

Sneakerhead OGs have been quick to criticise the 9060 silhouette for being a little too future-forward in its design, however, we think it’s a perfect blend that leans on the brand’s heritage in much the same way as the highly successful 327. For example, the outsole is taken from the 860, the jewel logo on the tongue is inspired by the 991, and the overall design leans into the classic 990 aesthetic. It’s a favourite of ours this year, and the Bodega collaboration turns things up a notch.
Spacer mesh is used around the ankle collar, something we’ve come to expect from the brand, and a texture made popular by the sneaker of the year candidate Up There x New Balance 2002R. The texture trend continues to a perforated leather pannel around the midfoot before ample use of hairy suede is added in cream hues. Blue colour-blocking adds to the occasion by way of suede and projects classical art and architecture that Bodega has become known for.
