Joao Teixeira recognises that many of us have transitioned to working from home, and that means adjusting our workspaces to function as a home office. Not that his Shelter Desk was designed specifically for the current situation—it was more designed for people who like to keep things neat, tidy, and organised—but it would function admirably as a desk for your home office.
The design is pretty simple. Teixeira kept things minimal, which helps to make it possible for the desk to fit into any décor scheme. The desk top is slim, providing plenty of leg room underneath, and making it appear to be more of a table than an actual desk. But the drawers that the desk comes with make up for that. There are three drawers in the front. The two outside drawers wrap around the edge of the corner and pull out in a unique manner. The drawers are big enough that you can store your tablet or laptop in, or any other devices that you rely on. The back drawer spans the entire length of the desk and provides room for you to hide cables and chargers, or other items that you don’t need to access on a regular basis. The legs of the desk are set at a slight angle, providing a solid stability.
“This is a personal project I wanted to develop for a long time,” says Teixeira. It’s obvious that a lot of thought has gone into creating the desk, and the result is a classic looking piece with just a touch of modernity to it. If you need a piece of furniture for you home office, or if you just appreciate quality design and good looking furniture, then the Shelter Desk is one of the best options you’re going to find.
