Rich, famous and handsome – Timothée Chalamet is killing life. Now the talented actor has taken our collective envy to new heights, purchasing a plush tennis court estate on the West Coast for USD$11 million (AU$17.6 million). Located deep in the Santa Monica Mountains, the property was previously owned by the equally good-looking Kate Upton and her husband, Houston Astros baseball star Justin Verlander. As it turns out, Chamalet is the latest in a lengthy list of Hollywood heavyweights to lay claim to the home. Check out the images below.

Upton and Verlander put the house on the market earlier this year for 11.7 million before settling on the $700,000 discount. Don’t feel too bad for them, though, they turned a cheeky USD$5.7 million profit after buying the property only six years ago. According to Dirt, the couple gave the home a mild renovation during their ownership, rebuilding the kitchen but leaving most of the rooms mostly untouched.
Built in the 1970s, the East Coast traditional-style estate has hosted several celebrities throughout its time. Owned in the 1990s by Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny G, who eventually sold the property to tennis legend, Pete Sampras, the house was more recently owned by esteemed Hollywood producer Jon Peters (Caddyshack, Rain Man, Batman).
Hidden behind huge gates, high walls and a lengthy driveway, the four-bedroom residence sits at 5,500 square feet. White wooden floors and airy open spaces provide a sense of ease and brightness to the home. Encompassing a multitude of big windows and French doors, the various living spaces include a living room with an impressive fireplace, a formal dining room and an eat-in kitchen with its own breakfast bar, a family room with vaulted ceilings, and a spacious lounge with a walk-in wine storage room.
The outdoors area features a plunge pool, spa and sprawling gardens. Also on the premises is a full-size tennis court, where Pete Sampras used to practice daily.
Chalamet reportedly plans to split his time between his hometown in New York and his new home in Los Angeles. To pay for his expensive taste, Chalamet is set to portray Willy Wonka in a new original film, and Dune: Part 2 is set to hit theatres next year.
