ABT already wowed the world with its high performance, limited edition RS7-R. Not content with their work on the Audi RS7, ABT Sportsline has turned their attention to the RS6 Avant, tuning up Audi’s sporty station wagon.
To get the RS6 to where they envisioned it, ABT built a new front lip and grille frame. They also added on a rear skirt as well as side skirt attachments. The fenders received inserts from ABT’s aerodynamic carbon components lineup. These new additions actually shaved off weight while also decreasing drag. Performance wasn’t the only aspect to benefit from the changes. The car looks more aggressive because of these additions. The exhaust system was also improved with a new stainless steel option with four carbon-end pipes. ABT stacked all these changes on a set of weight-optimized 22-inch ABT High-Performance wheels. ABT also offers suspension options that include adjustable suspension springs and new anti-roll bars. Inside, the RS6 gets dressed up with plenty of carbon as well, especially for the dashboard covers and the seat frame covers.
The RS6 already comes with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 that combines with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The original package generates 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. To get that “R” designation, however, the RS6 got a performance boost that bumped horsepower up to 690 and torque to 649 lb-ft. That added boost will send the RS6-R from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds—a 0.4-second improvement over the base model. ABT claims that the upgraded RS6-R has a top speed of 200 miles per hour. Not bad for a car with a rear seat and plenty of cargo area.
ABT is limiting production of the RS6-R to just 125 units. To get your hands on one, you’ll have to reach out to ABT Sportsline. You’ll need a donor RS6-R, plus around $75,000 for the upgrade.
