Arcimoto’s FUV—Fun Utility Vehicle—is looking to open a new market. The FUV is a fully electric, three-wheeled vehicle that you can purchase fully enclosed or open. Similar to ATVs or motorcycles, the FUV is controlled via a handlebar. There is seating for two, one in the front and one in the back. There is also some room for gear, which is good considering the distance the FUV can cover. With two people and gear, the FUV can drive between seventy and one-hundred-and-thirty miles.
Charging is simple as well; no need for any special equipment, you can just plug the FUV into any outlet or use a charging station while on the road.
The FUV is front-wheel drive with independent dual motors that deliver instant torque—enough to propel you from 0-100 in just 7.5 seconds. The FUV has a low center of gravity and features an anti-dive optimization. Combined with its light weight, these features make the FUV very agile and responsive.
The FUV is actually classified as a motorcycle, which makes sense considering that it is ¼ of the mass footprint of a passenger vehicle. It’s also ten times more efficient, with a 230 MPGe rating. And don’t forget that it’s also 1/3 the price of an average small car.
Arcimoto has opened a new market with the FUV, and it’s one that raises the bar for environmental efficiency and affordability.
