The BMW 320i M Sport Package Injects Pure Athleticism into the 3 Series

By in Cars, Featured on

If for some bizarre reason BMW’s 320i sedan doesn’t offer you enough in the way of luxury meets high performance, then the German motor company has provided potential buyers with extra motivation in the form of an enhanced M Sports Package. The BMW 3 Series already has sportiness in its genes but thanks to the M Sport package, the vehicle impresses with even greater athleticism.

The M Sport Package blends seamlessly with the car’s unmistakable character. An M aerodynamics kit fits the 320i with a front apron and BMW kidney grille featuring seven exclusively designed slats in Black highgloss. The front apron is complemented by side skirts and a rear apron marked with a Dark Shadow metallic diffuser insert. The Sports package also includes LED fog lights, mirror caps in the body colour, a tailpipe with high-gloss chrome trim and exclusive double-spoke 19-inch light alloy wheels in Bicolour Orbit Grey.

Inside the BMW 320i, the M Sports Package transforms the vehicle’s identity through refined touches like M door sill finishers, electric sport seats with Dakota leather upholstery and memory foam plus an M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons. That’s just the ‘feel’ of the cabin. Now it’s on to your other senses. The cabin’s appearance is modified with an Anthracite headliner, and fine wood Anthracite trim finished in Pearl-gloss chrome. The trim extends all the way from the roof to the doors. The 320i’s car key is even finished in detailing that matches the paint finish, and buyers have the choice of lighting the cabin with either orange or white variable ambient light.

On the dash, the Instrument cluster with speedometer and revolution counter feature defined red chronoscales and a red contrast ring. The air conditioning and radio control unit are detailed in chrome and BMW’s Driving Experience Control is paired with the Heads-Up Display and an additional SPORT+ mode for finer tuning. Additional safety features include Driving Assistant, Lane Change Warning System, anti-dazzle mirrors, speed limit info and a surround view camera. Blast your tunes and podcasts via the digital radio with Bluetooth connectivity.

Performance-wise, you are looking at a sport sedan that can accelerate from 0-100 in 7.3 seconds and reach top speeds of over 200km/h. The M Sports Package is equipped with a 4-cylinder 135kw engine that’s paired with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission. What’s really impressive is its fuel consumption of just 5.8 litres per 100km. The sports package also includes Active M suspension.

There are multiple M packages available, although opting for the Sports Package is the only way to score the exclusive Estoril Blue metallic paint finish. You can personalise the vehicle further with dozens of extras like an anti-theft remote, heated seats, heated steering wheel and bike racks perfect for that ‘sporty’ lifestyle. If you can do without these few luxuries but want everything else detailed above, the BMW 320i M Sports Package will set you back $72,358.
