Over the last few years, we’ve seen an influx on young Mustang owners hit the scene. Generally, the combination of horsepower and excitement is easily controlled, but you’d be forgiven for pushing it a little too hard in those first few days of ownership. Unfortunately for a Mustang GT owner in British Colombia, that’s exactly what happened.
The owner of a brand-new 2019 Ford Mustang GT coupe has felt the effects of high testosterone and peer pressure. In an area of Cranbrook, outside a local mall where revheads and hoons gather to show off their rides, a couple of drivers were watching carnage unfold. Just three days after picking up the 460hp, 5.0-litre V8 muscle car, the driver took it drifting on a wet and slippery day, plunging it straight into a nearby creek.
Speaking with Car Scoops, a person with knowledge of the accident revealed that the driver was “young and inexperienced and tried to show off” by drifting in the rain. “He lost control and crashed. It was a brand new car, bought it three days prior”. Footage of the car being pulled from its watery grave is pretty heartbreaking to watch, but you’ve got to admit, that colour scheme looks great amongst the reeds.
